More than 60 programmable
features! - All features can be
programmed from your Norstar set.

External line access -
Outside lines can be accessed directly by keys
on Norstar phones.

Line pool - A group of
sets share a group of external lines, by
pressing the line pool key or by dialing 9 on
your Norstar phone.

Manual line selection -
Any desired idle or ringing line can be
selected by pressing the line key on your
Norstar phone.

Paging - Norstar can
make paging announcements three ways:
Internally through the set speakers,
Externally through a customer supplied
amplifier and speaker or Internally and
Externally at the same time.

Prime line selection -
For outgoing calls, the user lifts the Norstar
handset and presses the Handsfree key.
The set will automatically select an open
line, or the line you designate.

Speed Dial - Any
Norstar set can access 30 Speed Dial numbers
shared by the system.

Discriminating ring -
Internal and external calls have a different
ringing cadence on your Norstar phone.

Calling party
identification - On an outside call the
name of the calling party is displayed (if
equipped with an optional caller ID trunk card
on the Norstar system).

Time and date display -
Time and date appears on the Norstar display
when the user is not on a call.

Automatic hold - A busy
line will automatically be placed on hold if
the user, without pressing the hold key,
presses another line or the intercom key on
the Norstar phone.

Call progress tones -
Audible indication of telephone numbers dialed
on your Norstar phone.

Held line reminder -
When a call is placed on hold the Norstar
system generates periodic reminder tones until
the call is removed from hold.

Held call reminder transfer
to prime - After two minutes a held call
will signal the prime set on the Norstar
system.

Link key - The user can
have the Norstar system generate a timed hook
switch flash to communicate with a host PBX or
Centrex by pressing the key or dial pad
code on your Norstar phone.

Night service - This
feature permits incoming calls normally
directed to the prime set to be routed to a
pre-selected Night Service set on the Norstar
system.

Privacy - When a user
is on the line, no other Norstar set can
access the call. This feature is automatic on
all calls.

Automatic set relocation -
Users can move phones from jack to jack.
Phone number and individual programming move
with the Norstar set.

Delayed ring transfer -
After three full ring cycles an external call
will transfer to the prime set on the Norstar
system.

Flexible call restriction
override - The user can establish specific
numbers which are exceptions to the
restrictions programmed on your Norstar phone.

Private lines - An
external line can be assigned to one Norstar
set as a private line.

Programmable user names
- Each Norstar phone can be named for the
department or person who will be using that
phone.

Pulse or tone dialing -
Dialing numbers are automatically sent a pulse
or tone signal, whichever is most appropriate
for the trunks lines receiving the
transmission from the Norstar system.

Ringing line preference
- When a person picks up the Norstar handset
to answer a call and two lines are ringing, he
will automatically be connected to the first
call.

Set based administration
- Allows the user to be able to make basic
changes to the Norstar system, which include
time and date, system speed dials, night
service, name assignments, call restrictions,
and executive passwords.

Set replacement - If an
existing Norstar set is replaced with a new
one of the same type, it will acquire the old
set's identity and programming.

Response to system
enhancements - As a new Key Service Unit (KSU)
is added or software upgrades occur, existing
Norstar sets will offer full functionality at
the upgraded level.
